Scope and Contents The collection consists of 236 attendance and grade registers maintained by instructors in textiles for both day and evening classes offered at the Institute between 1909 and 1968. Most registers are standard “Massachusetts School Registers” supplied by the state department of education. Instructors’ names are handwritten on the front, in most cases; some registers were shared by more than one instructor teaching the same class. Scope and Contents The collection consists of loose lecture notes, both handwritten and typescript as well as notes bound together in standard issue textile design books (used by students) and in other bindings. The handwritten notes are presumed to be compiled by faculty for use in textile courses because of the lack of mistakes, and the fact that they are original handwriting. The typescript notes were probably handed out to students, since similar notes appear in books compiled by students (see URC 5). ...

Scope and Contents

Collection consists of bound scrapbooks of different shapes and sizes containing pasted in or bound in samples of fabrics collected from a number of manufacturers. Most samples are of cotton fabrics, using a variety of weave techniques. Some are identified, but most are not.

Bradford Durfee Technical Institute newspaper clippings

Scope and Contents

The collection consists of newspaper clippings, most from the Fall River Herald News, pertaining to Bradford Durfee Textile School and later iterations. The clippings from 1910 through February 1928 are pasted into scrapbooks and are very brittle. They should be handled with care. Clippings from February 1928 through 1948 are photocopies of the originals. The original scrapbooks for these years were presumably discarded. There is one gap in the records: 1914-1918.
