Scope and Contents
Collection consists of bound scrapbooks of different shapes and sizes containing pasted in or bound in samples of fabrics collected from a number of manufacturers. Most samples are of cotton fabrics, using a variety of weave techniques. Some are identified, but most are not.

Biographical / Historical
Fabric sample books used for the study of textile manufacturing by faculty and students of Bradford Durfee Textile School (later known as Bradford Durfee College of Technology) and New Bedford Textile School (later known as New Bedford Institute of Technology), which combined in 1960 to form Southeastern Massachusetts Technological Institution (later known as Southeastern Massachusetts University), now known as University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Some scrapbooks may also have been used by textile professionals.
