Sylvia and Luis Cotta family papers
The collection consists of photographs and ephemera of various members of the Sylvia family, family correspondence from five of the Sylvia brothers (Philip, Antone, Frederick, Lawrence, George) while they served in the military during World War II, and a selection of Philip Sylvia’s Little Compton, Rhode Island well drilling business and personal records.
Pereira Garcia family papers
Collection consists mostly of family photographs, with some documents and a set of baptismal clothing. Of note are several photographs showing Pereira Garcia farms in the Azores and in Little Compton, Rhode Island.

Portuguese American vertical file collection
Collection consists of printed materials, commemorative publications, newspaper clippings, ephemera, photographs, artifacts and other materials collected on many aspects of the Portuguese immigration and immigrant communities in the United States. The focus of the collection, however, is on the Portuguese American communities in southeastern Massachusetts, especially in Fall River and New Bedford. Collection is arranged alphabetically by subject and continually supplemented.
Joseph and Mary Baptista family photographs and Madeiran embroidery
The collection consists of photo and travel albums, loose documents such as passports, identification cards, and Certificates of Citizenship, as well as several pieces of embroidered table and dresser linens.
Portuguese-American Historical Foundation of Fall River records
Collection consists of meeting minutes, membership lists, and other administrative materials relating to the Foundation.
Portuguese Alliance Benevolent Association records
The collection consists of record books of minutes, membership, and disability payments. Also included are by-laws, some correspondence, booklets and pamphlets pertaining to the Annual Meeting, photographs, paintings, medals, commemorative items, and newspaper and magazine clippings.
Antonio Alberto Costa collection of Portuguese musical recordings
The collection consists of 119 LPs and 3 45 RPM vinyl record albums, and two boxes of audio cassettes, most commercially produced music released in Portugal. Many are not dated. Some are signed by the artist to Antonio Costa. There is one recording (2 copies) of the actual radio program “A Hora da Ponta” featuring Mr. Costa himself, dated 1988.
Affonso Gil “Ferreira Mendes” Mendes Ferreira collection of Portuguese musical recordings
The collection consists of 48 78 RPM shellac disc recordings. They are not dated, but were probably manufactured between 1930 and 1960.
