Beldemonio script

The original script titled Beldemonio was written by Quirino de Souza, a Portuguese-American playwright, journalist and editor, who lived in New Bedford. The play debut on April 24, 1919 at the Orpheum Theater (New Bedford) by the Centro Dramatico Zig Zag. The play was described as a “drama phantastico evolucinonista em 3 actos” in the newspaper advertisements. The play, a love story, takes place in the 1800s (exact year left vague by the playwright) in Spain, during the reign of El-Rei Fernando VII.
