The United Jewish Appeal is a North American agency, comprised of many local chapters, which provides humanitarian, economic, and social support to Jews throughout the world. This includes immigrants to Israel, refugees and others. Humanitarian and rehabilitative services are dispensed through member agencies, aiding Jews in over 60 countries. The primary responsibility of the Jewish Welfare Federation is fundraising for the United Jewish Appeal relating to the local New Bedford chapter.
