Biographical / Historical
Built in 1921, designed by Myron Hunt, the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California was the site of Robert F. Kennedy's murder in 1968. The hotel closed in 1989 and was eventually demolished in 2005. These linens were presumably made especially for the night of RFK's victory celebration after winning the state of California in the 1968 presidential race. The tablecloth is embossed with "Ambassador Hotel 1968" on the bottom edge.
