Turn pages with great care, as they are very fragile.
Biographical / Historical
Both scrapbooks consist entirely of newspaper clippings, and appear to be kept by the same individual. Subjects of clippings focus on political figures active between 1897 and 1901, including President McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt, the Spanish-American War, naval ships and battles, the United States' involvement in War in the Philippines, the Boxer Rebellion in China and Chinese nobility, members of the GAR, the DAR, high profile female murder trials, and some historical articles. Author and donor are unknown. One loose item found in scrapbook #1 but not related is a reproduction of a photo of the opening ceremonies for the 1932 Olympics in Los Angeles, CA.

2 Linear Feet : Cardboard covers decorated with chromolithograph designs. One has a blue background and the other gold. Pages are loose, but they have been collated. ; 40.64 x 30.48 x 3.81 cm (16 x 12 x 1.5 in.) each
