UMass Dartmouth Publications Office photographs
Scope and Contents
Collection consists of black and white and color photographic prints and slides taken for use by the university's publications department. Many were used for publications, but others were not, especially multiple versions of the same subject. The first series consists of a collection of photographs filed by subject (originally kept in green file boxes). The second series are negatives and slides. Photographs were taken by the library's Photographics Department, and most of the slides were taken by non-UMD photographers unless otherwise noted on the photo. Subjects represent specific events, places and people, but some are merely classed generally, such as "students" or "minorities."

Biographical / Historical
The Publications Department facilitates production of nearly all major print publications produced on campus. Consisting of a staff of skilled designers and writers, the department, currently under the office of News and Public Information, enforces campus-wide graphic standards that distinguish the campus as a valuable component of the UMass brand while maintaining its unique mission. The publications team provides a full range of design, writing, editing, and production services for campus clients.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
internal transfer, accession # 07-09, 07-12, and 13-04 on 12/24/06, 1/24/07, and 9/20/12 respectively. A third, un-accessioned box of slides and publications was received in 2009.
