Biographical / Historical
The UMass Dartmouth Sigma Xi Society is a university-based chapter of a national organization that promotes scholarly research activities in science and engineering. The Sigma Xi Society created this research exhibit specifically to provide a day where students and faculty can talk about developments in both fields, and also so that they might educate other students as well. This two-day exhibit features research projects conducted by graduate and undergraduate students, faculty and staff.
Each exhibitor presented informational sessions about their projects in poster and oral form for two hours in the afternoon of both days. Posters remain on display in the library during the first afternoon and evening and throughout the second day. Abstracts for the poster presentations are posted on the Sigma Xi web site and printed in a booklet that used to promote the exhibition and distributed to presenters and attendees.
