Biographical / Historical
Harry and Rose Matenberg, parents of the donor, Sophie (Matenberg) Scheinman, were married at 20 in New Bedford, Massachusetts. They also lived in Malden and Chelsea, Mass. Harry opened a cleaning establishment in Medford, and for a time was a peddler in Portland, Maine. They returned to New Bedford and opening a used clothing store on Union Street. Harry died in 1975 and rose died in 1987.
