Scope and Contents
Series I of the collection consists of biographical and inaugural material (memorandums, a procedure handbook, tickets, and transcripts to speeches given by guest speakers), transcripts to speeches given by Walker, and works published by Walker throughout his administrative career. Series II consists of correspondence dating from 1972 to 1983, arranged chronologically. Series III are subject files kept by Walker’s office.

Biographical / Historical
On August 2, 1972, Donald E. Walker was named, by the Board of Trustees, President-elect of Southeastern Massachusetts University. On May 26, 1973, Walker was formally inaugurated as the University's second President. After serving for nearly eleven years, Walker announced his resignation on June 3, 1983. His final day as President of Southeastern Massachusetts University was August 31, 1983. Walker then took a position as the superintendent of the Grossman Community College District in San Diego, California.
