Bradford Durfee College of Technology photographs

 Collection
Identifier: PC-004

Scope and Contents

The photographs in this collection are from a number of sources, and were dated by comparing them to photographs reproduced in the BDTS catalogs and similar dated photographs. Most, like the large group of photographs that make up PC1, are public relations and presentation prints depicting equipment and buildings. There are some photographs with students and faculty; of note are class group photographs for 1910-1914 and the 1920s. The first female graduate of the school, and ultimately the first female graduate of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, was Leah O. Millard, BDTS Class of 1912; she is prominently featured in several group photographs. Most of the photographs are mounted, and some are oversize. For related collections of photographs, see PC 1, a 1913-1914 grouping, and PC 5, early photographs of the New Bedford Institute of Technology. Photos taken at the combined school, Southeastern Massachusetts Technological Institute, 1964+ are in PC6.
