The collection consists mostly of the administrative and board records of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Bedford. It also includes some photographs and a complete run of the Jewish Messenger, a newspaper published by the JFGNB.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
Transferred from the offices of the JFGNB in several accessions, beginning in 2007 (accession # 08-02, received July 17, 2007). The bulk was received May 23, 2008 (37 boxes, accession # 08-15). Issues of the Jewish Messenger, a publication of the JFGNB, are from various sources, including the Archives’ free subscription.
Accruals
further accruals are possible but not expected.
Processing Information
Collection was processed by applying the “More Product Less Process” method, therefore what might be considered series of similar records are disbursed throughout. Folders were replaced with acid free folders, but no arrangement was done. Inventory list completed by Sailohit Parayitam, December 2015 and finding aid by Judy Farrar February 2016.
