Biographical / Historical

Jewish Holocaust survivor Leon Jedwab was born in 1923 in Poland. The Jedwabs were already residents of the Zagorow Ghetto in 1940, when it became a holding place for Jewish refugees from other towns in Poland. The Jedwabs were forced to share their flat with two other Jewish families. Leon was taken from his family and sent to the Inowroclaw transit camp and from there he began a journey through ten concentration camps. Jedwab’s family was forced from their home in October of 1941 and executed in the Kazimierz Forest. Leon was the only survivor in his family.
