Office, 1914-1915
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of 111 photographs depicting faculty, students, classrooms, textile machinery, offices and lavatories more or less uniform in size and presentation (apparently conceived as a set) with captions set within the photoprint. Most of the collection is unmounted and was previously housed in two black binders, not original to the photographs. The few that are mounted on cardboard display additional descriptive captions, added for display purposes. All but 9 of the photographs were taken by local photographer O.E Dubois (Oscar Edwin Dubois, 1864-1940) of 134 Wilcox Street, Fall River, Massachusetts, apparently for hire. The purpose of this set of photographs is unclear, however they do give a descriptive account of all physical aspects of a textile school in the early twentieth century.
