Scope and Contents The collection consists of one scrapbook of photographs, inaugural memorabilia, autographs and news clippings (Series I) and a group of congratulatory citations (loose and hard cover) sent to Walker on the occasion of his inauguration (Series II). The citations are from college and university administrators, military institutions, associations, politicians, and friends and colleagues of Walker. Scope and Contents The heart of the collection are the 55 oral history interviews, originally recorded on audiocassette of strike participants, family members of strikers, and strike leaders, along with transcripts and notes to a selection of these interviews. Further transcription is being done on an ongoing basis. The collection also includes background research conducted by committee members, copies of relevant publications on local labor history and the textile industry, a small selection of photographs...

Records consist of memoranda, correspondence, meeting minutes, brochures and program flyers. The collection was brought together from the records of 3 administrators who served as president of SACHEM at one time or as members of its board - John Brazil, Donald E. Scope and Contents The majority of the collection consisted of student papers written between 1950 and 1964 to fulfill requirements of course number E401 “Report Writing” taught by Augustus Silva, English Professor and Dean of Students, New Bedford Textile Institute (Series II). Subjects include textiles, engineering, and chemistry.
